From feminine, flirty Prom Princess frocks to the dark drama of Victorian Goth gowns, each look is uniquely cutting edge. PromAdvice makes finding the perfect Prom dress a lot easier than finding the perfect date.

PromAdvice.com features dozens of great dresses divided into six exciting themes (including Plus Sizes) from the hottest (and hautest) trends for ’06. Here’s an overview of the trends we’ll be spotlighting:

Top Trends for Prom 2006:

1. Victorian Goth: Make a cameo in the Jane Eyre jet set. Black is back and there’s no better way to worship it than in Victorian-era inspired finery. From bows and bustles to ruffles and lace, going Goth has never been more glamorous.

2. Eclectic Chic: Embellish your story with exotic detail. Dare to be different. We’ve discovered some chic little numbers that we’re sure you’re going to flip over. Flaunt your creative side in frivolous patterns, bold beads, and quirky colors.

3. Drama Queen: The spotlight beckons. Ready to make your entrance? Give free reign to your inner drama queen in elegant gowns that deserve to take center stage. Strike a pose with bold color, classic silhouettes, and glamorous details.

4. Prom Princess: Crown your look with flirty femininity. Want to feel like a princess on Prom night? It’s easier than you think. Cast a timeless spell in flowing feminine frocks, pleasing pastels, and flattering florals.

5. Flashback Fever: Got an attitude? Strut your stuff. What better way to show off some dance-tastic moves than by stepping out in sixties and seventies-inspired looks? Get a groove on in fabulous faux fur or pay homage to the mod movement in an iconic Edie Sedgewick-style shift.

6. Curvy Grrrl: Flattery will get you everywhere. Plus Size (14 and up) can take their cue from the glamorous movie stars of the 1950s and flatter their girlish figure with sophistication and style. Maximize drama and minimize your waist with solid colors that elongate from head to toe.

Plus: Our “Style Icon” and “Reel Inspiration” tips provide a pop culture perspective for 2006’s most exciting trends.
